Scootaround Inc., North America's leading Scooter and wheelchair rental provider was very proud to be honored in Inc. magazine's annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.
"We are very proud to be included in the list for our achievements over the past three years and especially proud to stand with a select group of companies who have also met and exceeded their expectations." said company President Kerry Renaud.
Even amidst the ongoing recession, the companies on the list tallied a whopping $214 billion in aggregate revenue. That represents an increase of $29 billion over the previous year. Collectively, Scootaround and the other honored companies created more than one million jobs over the period. "Everyone at Scootaround has worked very hard to not only weather the storm during these trying economic conditions, but to ensure that our future growth and expansion plans remain on target,” said Renaud. "We're proud that we still managed to see this tremendous growth during this period."
The 2011 Inc. 500|5000 companies reported 350,000 new jobs created over the past three years. The median growth rate of the companies was 94 percent - an impressive number given the stagnant economic environment. Additionally, the aggregate revenue among the companies topped $360 billion, 14 percent more than the previous year.
Inc. magazine says, "This year’s Inc. 5000 list offers a preview of which industries are poised for growth in coming years. With an average growth rate of 667 percent, Insurance ranks as the top industry overall. Government Services is the top industry gainer with 252 companies on this year’s list, up from 135 last year. Health is the top industry in both total revenue ($22.7 billion) and total employment (156,223 jobs)." Scootaround's 3-year growth rate was 66% - that earned them spot number 268 out of the top 500 companies on the Top Health Companies.
