From March 24th through 26th, the Daytona Spring Turkey Run takes over the infield at the Daytona International Speedway. This epic auto show and swap meet is the biggest in the country, and has been running since 1974. Every year during the last weekend of March – as well as over Thanksgiving weekend – people travel from all over the country to enjoy the various attractions.

If you love cars, then this show is just awesome. There will be more than 6000 automobiles on display and up for sale at the Daytona Spring Turkey Run. This includes vintage cars and trucks, muscle cars, race cars, and classic autos. You’ll be able to chat with the owners of these finely-tuned machines, and even meet Mike Henry and Ryan Evans, stars of the History Channel show Counting Cars.

Planning to travel to the Turkey Run with your own classic auto? All registered owners are given the opportunity to do a lap of the Speedway on the final day of the event, which would of course be a real thrill.

Because it is going to take an awful long time to examine all those cars, you’ll be pleased to know there are plenty of food vendors on-site, and there will be bands playing both days to provide entertainment. As always at this event, there’s a program of entertainment for kids too (and a play zone with bounce houses and lots of games), so if your little ones get tired of looking at cars there are other things to keep them busy.

But, the Daytona Spring Turkey Run is way more than just a car show – the swap meet part of this event is enduringly popular. There are more than 2500 swap meet spaces, so whatever part or accessory you need for your home (or fantasy) auto rebuild project, you may well find it here. There are always plenty of new and used parts, including many vintage and antique parts, so the swap meet becomes a treasure hunt for enthusiasts with specific needs in mind. Then there’s Artisan Alley, where more than 100 craft and art vendors set up booths to display and sell their wares.

More than 150,000 attended this event last year, many of whom make an annual pilgrimage to be there. The Daytona Spring Turkey Run is lots of fun, and Scootaround is on-site to help with your mobility needs. We will have a shuttle running from the main gates of the event to our rental booth location. Contact us in advance to book a rental if you know you’ll need one, and that way you’ll be guaranteed to get the equipment you require.

Although the Turkey Run is reason enough to head to Daytona, there are plenty of other reasons too. The weather will be beautiful, and there are gorgeous parklands scattered in and around the city. There are also miles and miles of white sand beaches that you’re allowed to drive right onto, many of which have boardwalks that make them accessible. Daytona also has great restaurants, bars, the huge Daytona Flea and Farmers’ Market (the biggest in the country), and many other attractions to enjoy. Daytona is a fantastic destination any time of year, but the Turkey Run is a great excuse to go and find out just how much this city has to offer.
