Transportables
Transportable scooters
are collapsible and break into several pieces for easy
storage in the trunks of most vehicles. Generally, these
scooters will have removable seats, batteries and rear
drive assemblies (the rear wheels and battery compartment).
Some models also have a base that can be further disassembled.
Slightly larger
and more powerful than our transportable models, Standard
scooters are similar to smaller models shown above,
but are designed to have more stability and an increased
weight capacity. Typical models do not break down but
are versatile and can be used both indoors and out.
Heavy duty models
offer rugged construction for riders with increased
weight capacities. All have a standard adjustable tiller
and most offer one-piece frame construction. Some models
offer a front headlight and anti-tip wheels for added
safety. Typical models offer a standard seat size of
22" wide and some models disassemble into smaller
pieces for transport.
Similar to 3-wheeled
models in most ways, these units offer a fourth wheel
for added stability. Most models include rear suspension,
adjustable seating, front basket, and fully adjustable
tillers. Some models provide front headlights and a
rearview mirror for added safety. 4-wheeled models provide
excellent power and range outdoor use.
Power chairs offer
great indoor maneuverability and are especially useful
for those living in tighter spaces. Many models offer
suspension and the ability to climb small curbs. Powerchairs
offer strong outdoor performance and most models offer
height-adjustable front with anti-tip wheels for added
safety.
Heavy-duty powerchairs
offer enhanced stability for riders with increased weight
capacities. They provide suspension for added comfort
and some models include front casters that raise and
lower as needed to compensate for terrain changes. This
allows you to ride over obstacles up to 3 inches in
height.
Manual wheelchairs
are mobility devices that require human-power operation,
either by someone pushing the unit or by the rider's
own hands pushing on the large drive wheels. Typical
models include the folding frame variety constructed
with an X-shaped brace at the center. All models have
welded joints and seat backs that folds for transport.
Similar to standard-weight
models, heavy duty manual wheelchairs provide added
capacity for riders ranging from 300-450lbs. These chairs
require human-power operation, and all models are constructed
with double-cross braces and securely welded joints
for added stability. Most models include seat back that
folds for easy transport.
Transport chairs,
also known as companion chairs, do not have large rear
wheels, and are designed for transporting the passenger
via the aid of another person who pushes the chair.
Transport chairs offer lightweight steel design and
all models provide comfortable padding with swing away
footrests included for easy access.
