Can I rent a scooter from the UK?

Yes, as long as the rental is to be delivered to one of our 500+ North American locations (we do not currently provide rentals in the United Kingdom).

What kind of Mobility Equipment do you rent?

Scootaround rental locations provide electric mobility scooters. These vehicles (also known as an ECV or electric convenience vehicles), are battery-powered, three or four-wheeled vehicles designed to assist individuals who have difficulty walking.

Many of our locations also offer 4-wheeled scooters along with manual wheelchairs and several types of powerchairs. Click Here for more information about the different vehicles we provide.


How do I rent mobility equipment?

We will quote you a rental price according to the destination, rental duration and pick-up/drop-off points. Due to the international nature of our business all quotes are in US dollars.

How fast can I book mobility equipment?

To ensure equipment availability, we recommend at least 48 hours in advance for land-based rentals. For cruise-based rentals, we recommend at least 5 business days.


Do you rent anything else besides scooters?

YES! Powerchairs, Manual Wheelchairs, Electric Wheelchairs, Walkers and Rollators are available at many of our locations. Call Toll-Free 1-888-441-7575 without obligation and tell us what you need.


Who do I call if my equipment breaks down?

Scootaround operators can be reached seven days a week. Outside of regular business hours our technical staff is on-call by pager.

I am heavier than the average person. Will the equipment be suitable for my needs?

YES! Many of our locations stock equipment suitable for the needs of heavier customers where a regular equipment would not be suitable. Call Toll-Free at 1-888-441-7575 without obligation for further details.


What are your rental rates?

Rental rates are dependent on destination, rental duration and pick-up/drop-off points. Our guarantee ensures that you receive the most economical rental package available to meet your needs. The price we quote is all-inclusive. (deposit, taxes, delivery, pick-up)

How do I pay for the equipment rental?

Scootaround accepts payment by major credit card, such as Visa and Mastercard.

Due to the international nature of our business all prices are quoted in US dollars.


Where do I pick up and drop off the equipment?

Scootaround will deliver the equipment to your hotel or cruise ship port. For hotel rentals, simply leave the equipment at the hotel bell desk. For cruise ship rentals, leave the equipment at the location where you picked it up -- generally, the lower gangway or embarkation desk (this differs depending on the cruise line).

When do I recharge the equipment's batteries?

The battery requires charging each day. Just plug the power cord into a standard outlet at the end of your day and allow it to charge overnight.

Some equipment will have a built in charger, others will come with a separate off-board charger.


Can I take my equipment on a cruise?

YES. Many of our customers enjoy convenient mobility assistance while on a cruise ship. Your equipment will be at the port when you arrive. Just leave it at the location where you picked it up -- generally, the lower gangway or embarkation desk (this differs depending on the cruise line and port).


Will the equipment fit into the trunk of a car?

Transportable scooters can be loaded into the trunk of a medium-to-full-sized car (with the heaviest piece weighing somewhere between 35 and 60lbs).

Standard/Heavy Duty scooters and powerchairs cannot be disassembled and are more suitable to be transported in a mini-van or SUV.


How many locations do you have?

Scootaround provides service in well over 500 locations with new cities being added regularly. Visit our locations page to view a listing of the cities on your destination plans.
