- Two forms
of coverage are offered at an additional cost; Equipment Protection
and Cancellation Protection.
- Rental
rates are subject to change based on availability. Guarantee your
rates and your equipment by booking early!
- Certain
cities may require a minimum 3-day rental and/or an additional delivery
fee if a hotel delivery is involved - please inquire when booking.
- For convention
rentals, your equipment may be taken offsite as required with the full
daily rate applying regardless of time the equipment is returned the
following day (e.g. If you rent a scooter on Monday and return it Tuesday
at noon, a 2-day charge will apply). If a scooter is taken offsite overnight,
you (the customer) will be responsible for charging the equipment
and you will also need to purchase Damage and Loss Coverage.

Washington, DC,
is considered to be one of the most accessible cities in the United States.
Travelers that require the use of wheelchairs or scooters, D.C. will find disabled
access in many of its establishments. In fact, it was in D.C. that the US Congress
recognized and established the rights of the disabled when it passed the Americans

On the Street
- Many street corners provide curb cuts that allow for easy wheelchair and
scooter travel. Many restaurants, boutiques and movie theaters also offer step-up
entrances with wheelchair ramps. The people at www.disabilityguide.org

Attractions
and Sightseeing - Many public facilities in Washington, whether museums,
parks, or theaters, are wheelchair-accessible. Some attractions have tours or
programs for people with mobility, sight, or hearing impairments. Some popular
federal buildings with ADA access include the Capitol, the White House and the
Supreme Court. Some national landmarks include the Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR,
Vietnam War, and Korean War memorials and the Washington Monument.
Museums
- Most major Washington museums are accessible to wheelchair visitors, including

Ground Transportation
- Many subway stations are still quite difficult to navigate, other than the
major subway exchanges. Wheelchair riders are recommended to use the public
transit buses, most of which have wheelchair lifts and "kneelers"
at the front to facilitate getting on and off (bus drivers will provide assistance).
Reduced fares are available to disabled passengers who display a valid Medicare
card. Visitors to the city are also eligible for the same Access-a-Ride program
benefits as New York City residents. Drivers with disabilities may use windshield
cards from their own state or Canadian province to park in designated handicapped
spaces.
- Transit Bus
Service - All Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority buses are accessible
and are equipped with the ability to kneel or lower; all have either low floor
ramps or lifts. Major stops, landmarks, and intersections are either announced
by an automated stop announcement system or the bus operator. All buses feature
two wheelchair securement areas and priority seating for senior citizens and
people with disabilities near the front of the bus. For more information on

- Metrorail
Service - All Metrorail stations and rail cars are accessible and their
stations feature accessible priority parking near station entrances. All stations
have elevators and directional signs indicating elevator locations. Rail cars
feature gap reducers between the car and the platform, barriers between cars,
priority seating for people with disabilities and senior citizens, and emergency
intercoms accessible to wheelchair users that also include instructions in

- MetroAccess
- This is a shared-ride, door-to-door, paratransit service for people whose
disability prevents them from using bus or rail (you must qualify for the
service through an application process). To schedule a trip, MetroAccess Reservation
Agents are available 7-days weekly at (301) 562-5360. Customers may schedule
a trip between one and seven days in advance of the desired travel date (no

- Amtrak
- Most Amtrak stations in major cities, and many other staffed stations across
the country, are accessible to passengers with disabilities. To receive up-to-date
information regarding accessibility of the station(s) on your itinerary, call

to make a request, please ensure that you provide the Amtrak phone representative
with all the pertinent details so that the assistance provided at your station
will meet your needs.
- Taxi Service
- Yellow Paratransit is one of two D.C. cab companies selected to provide
Wheelchair Accessible Cab service. The inaugural program sponsored by grants
from the DC Government and the Council of Governments consisted of twenty
wheelchair accessible vehicles from the combined companies. . For more information

- Tram Service
- Tourmobile Trams offer accessible sightseeing tram rides for visitors with
disabilities. The company also operates special vans for mobility-affected

- Ronald Reagan
Washington National Airport - Also known as National Airport, Ronald Reagan
is located in Arlington County, Virginia and is the closest airport to downtown
Washington, DC. This makes it the airport of convenience for visitors staying

- Washington
Dulles International Airport - Dulles International Airport is located
in Chantilly, Virginia (26 miles from Washington, DC ). During off-peak hours,
the drive should take about 40 minutes from downtown Washington, DC. Dulles
Airport uses a number of mobile lounges known as "people movers"
to transport passengers from the terminal to the gates (keep this in mind
as it can take extra time to get you to your gate). Dulles provides universal

Washington International Airport - Commonly known as BWI, this airport
is located about 45 miles north of Washington, DC. Amtrak and MARC offer rail
