Inc. Gains WEConnect International Certification
Mobility Solutions Leader
Recognized for Diversity
ORLANDO,
FL - Scootaround Inc., North America's leading mobility enhancement
provider, is opening new avenues of opportunity thanks to
WEConnect Canada, a corporate-led organization that provides
Canada’s premier certification program for women business
owners.
WEConnect Canada is proud to deliver WEConnect
International certification to Scootaround Inc., and other
Canadian women's business enterprises that are at least 51%
owned, managed and controlled by one or more women. This third
party verification process makes it easier for corporations
to find women's business enterprises. WEConnect Canada's relationship
with WEConnect International helps to ensure that these businesses
are included in corporate sourcing events inside and outside
of Canada.
“Since starting Scootaround in 1997
as a home-based business, we have grown into a company providing
scooter and wheelchair rentals to thousands of customers,
event attendees, and business travelers each year," says
Lee Meagher, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Scootaround
Inc. "Gaining WEConnect International Certification will
help us make new contacts and open doors for continued growth
and success in the international market."
Through internationally recognized standards,
WEConnect Canada certifies businesses that are at least 51%
owned, managed and controlled by women and connects them with
the growing corporate and public sector demand for diverse
suppliers. “That’s good not only for women, but
for corporations and governments that can now easily source
untapped and innovative new vendors,” says Betty Wood,
WEConnect Canada’s Lead Strategist Women Business Enterprises.
